Yuba Sutter Domestic Animal Disaster Assistance (YSDADA) works jointly with governmental, non-governmental, and private agencies and organizations and the public in the Yuba-Sutter area to promote the safety and well-being of domestic pets and farm animals affected by a governmentally-declared disaster.

We provide these animals with emergency shelter, necessary veterinary care, and identification for reuniting animals with their owners.  All volunteers have completed disaster preparedness training provided by YSDADA and other organizations.

Our public outreach program furthers awareness of animal needs in a disaster, and educates agencies and the public about the importance of being prepared.

Free Community Seminar Planned for Sat. Aug 16

YSDADA is offering a free seminar on how we set up and operate an emergency animal shelter during a disaster.

We know that the community will want to support us and the animals during a disaster.  Although Yuba Co. has so far been spared from the devastating wildfires that have affected communities across the state, fire season is not over.  This seminar will provide an overview of shelter operations so if disaster does strike, community members who wish to volunteer will be ready to help the animals immediately.

This community-readiness seminar will be held Saturday, August 16 from 10-2 at a private office in downtown Marysville.  If attendance figures climb, we will find another location in the Y-S area.

Attendees are not obligated to volunteer with YSDADA.

For liability reasons, all volunteers must be 18 or over.  You may attend this seminar if you will turn 18 within 3 months.

For more information or to reserve your seat, please call 674-1190 or send an email to volunteer@ysdada.org

YSDADA has a variety of volunteer opportunities.  See our postings at www.volunteermatch.org for details.
